Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Materials and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB), which rose 2.67% or 3.240 points to trade at 124.380 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX:GAPB) added 1.74% or 3.33 points to end at 194.94 and Becle SA (MX:CUERVO) was up 1.12% or 0.300 points to 27.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which lost 4.48% or 43.15 points to trade at 919.00 in late trade. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) declined 3.58% or 0.76 points to end at 20.45 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) shed 3.49% or 1.020 points to 28.200.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 169 to 103 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.77% or 9.40 to $1206.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.41% or 0.28 to hit $68.59 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.18% or 0.14 to trade at $76.36 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.73% to 19.0907, while EUR/MXN rose 1.86% to 22.3216.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 94.62.
