Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Financial Services and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA), which rose 2.23% or 1.83 points to trade at 83.73 at the close. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) added 1.98% or 0.580 points to end at 29.890 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) was up 1.88% or 2.17 points to 117.72 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which lost 3.20% or 1.100 points to trade at 33.230 in late trade. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) declined 2.65% or 9.35 points to end at 343.63 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) shed 2.65% or 0.58 points to 21.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 134 to 121 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.16% or 15.00 to $1304.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.57% or 1.13 to hit $70.71 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.27% or 1.01 to trade at $78.79 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.41% to 19.5523, while EUR/MXN fell 0.15% to 22.9295.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 93.70.
