Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Industrials and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.91% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO), which rose 3.25% or 2.28 points to trade at 72.33 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 1.93% or 6.78 points to end at 357.49 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was up 0.84% or 0.830 points to 99.130 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which lost 3.28% or 1.010 points to trade at 29.800 in late trade. Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) declined 2.99% or 1.220 points to end at 39.620 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) shed 2.53% or 0.56 points to 21.54.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 157 to 157 and 12 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.08% or 1.10 to $1312.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.20% or 2.21 to hit $71.27 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.29% or 2.46 to trade at $77.31 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.01% to 19.5718, while EUR/MXN fell 0.13% to 23.1934.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 92.95.
