Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.51% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA), which rose 1.83% or 0.560 points to trade at 31.170 at the close. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) added 1.55% or 0.47 points to end at 30.71 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was up 1.35% or 0.300 points to 22.580 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which lost 2.55% or 0.530 points to trade at 20.260 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) declined 2.23% or 8.14 points to end at 357.17 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) shed 1.84% or 1.040 points to 55.550.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 155 to 80 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.39% or 4.97 to $1295.07 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.37% or 0.18 to hit $48.77 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.17% or 0.09 to trade at $51.99 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.73% to 17.8417, while EUR/MXN fell 0.27% to 21.0995.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 92.98.
