Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Power, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which rose 5.85% or 361.0 points to trade at 6531.0 at the close. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) added 3.27% or 5.20 points to end at 164.40 and Detskiy Mir PAO (MCX:DSKY) was up 3.15% or 3.35 points to 109.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included VTB (MCX:VTBR), which lost 6.20% or 0.0034 points to trade at 0.0520 in late trade. MVideo (MCX:MVID) declined 2.72% or 11.40 points to end at 408.00 and Sberbank Rossii OAO Pref (MCX:SBER_p) shed 2.32% or 4.40 points to 185.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 142 to 91 and 15 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 3.62% to 18.130.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.21% or 2.65 to $1280.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.54% or 0.30 to hit $55.03 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.94% or 0.58 to trade at $61.29 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.93% to 59.6419, while EUR/RUB fell 1.19% to 70.2040.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 93.78.
