Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Power and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 1.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN), which rose 3.49% or 10.85 points to trade at 322.00 at the close. Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) added 2.97% or 8.90 points to end at 308.90 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) was up 2.82% or 11.50 points to 419.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which lost 3.38% or 282.0 points to trade at 8065.0 in late trade. NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN) declined 2.36% or 19.0 points to end at 786.0 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) shed 1.07% or 0.480 points to 44.520.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 130 to 80 and 23 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.60% to 14.920.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.18% or 2.28 to $1271.88 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.01% or 1.06 to hit $53.70 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.50% or 0.89 to trade at $60.19 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.57% to 58.1859, while EUR/RUB fell 0.06% to 67.4100.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 94.92.
