Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Power and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 1.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were MVideo (MCX:MVID), which rose 11.12% or 39.10 points to trade at 390.60 at the close. NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT) added 5.26% or 25.0 points to end at 500.1 and Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) was up 3.54% or 12.10 points to 353.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which lost 3.85% or 6.10 points to trade at 152.50 in late trade. Lenta Ltd (MCX:LNTADR) declined 3.43% or 12 points to end at 338 and Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) shed 3.42% or 0.0299 points to 0.8451.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 170 to 60 and 11 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.73% to 17.700.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.68% or 8.76 to $1273.34 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.31% or 0.18 to hit $57.12 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.29% or 0.18 to trade at $62.35 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.31% to 58.4346, while EUR/RUB rose 0.03% to 69.5225.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 92.98.
