Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Power and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p), which rose 2.39% or 13.00 points to trade at 556.00 at the close. NMTP (MCX:NMTP) added 1.69% or 0.1100 points to end at 6.6350 and Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) was up 1.33% or 9 points to 685 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which lost 2.09% or 2.10 points to trade at 98.50 in late trade. MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) declined 1.93% or 11.50 points to end at 585.00 and MVideo (MCX:MVID) shed 1.92% or 7.80 points to 399.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 113 to 91 and 24 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 7.77% to 26.470.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.02% or 0.20 to $1226.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.65% or 0.40 to hit $61.27 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.75% or 0.54 to trade at $71.53 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.27% to 66.4993, while EUR/RUB rose 0.10% to 75.9560.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 96.06.
