Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which rose 3.92% or 4.30 points to trade at 113.90 at the close. Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM) added 2.47% or 1.72 points to end at 71.42 and NMTP (MCX:NMTP) was up 2.11% or 0.1350 points to 6.5350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MVideo (MCX:MVID), which lost 2.76% or 11.50 points to trade at 405.50 in late trade. Magnit (MCX:MGNT) declined 1.41% or 68.0 points to end at 4750.0 and United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) shed 1.38% or 0.380 points to 27.060.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 97 to 91 and 17 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 2.64% to 25.460.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.14% or 1.80 to $1304.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.52% or 0.34 to hit $66.08 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $76.42 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.51% to 62.8327, while EUR/RUB rose 0.52% to 74.0475.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 93.57.
