Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Detskiy Mir PAO (MCX:DSKY), which rose 2.09% or 1.90 points to trade at 93.00 at the close. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) added 2.07% or 2.90 points to end at 143.05 and NMTP (MCX:NMTP) was up 1.77% or 0.1150 points to 6.6000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR), which lost 4.12% or 69.5 points to trade at 1617.5 in late trade. NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN) declined 3.33% or 22.0 points to end at 638.0 and AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) shed 2.26% or 0.205 points to 8.875.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 119 to 81 and 28 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 4.93% to 22.390.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.08% or 13.40 to $1255.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.43% or 0.32 to hit $73.62 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.17% or 0.13 to trade at $77.17 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.29% to 63.2422, while EUR/RUB fell 0.22% to 73.6650.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 94.43.
