Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Power, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 0.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which rose 2.30% or 13.5 points to trade at 600.0 at the close. NMTP (MCX:NMTP) added 2.23% or 0.1400 points to end at 6.4100 and Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) was up 1.82% or 10.00 points to 558.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR), which lost 4.33% or 76.5 points to trade at 1691.5 in late trade. Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) declined 3.25% or 0.1425 points to end at 4.2400 and FSK EES (MCX:FEES) shed 2.80% or 0.0049 points to 0.1686.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 129 to 88 and 21 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 2.82% to 23.730.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.45% or 5.50 to $1229.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $68.28 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.29% or 0.21 to trade at $72.79 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.15% to 63.5707, while EUR/RUB rose 0.33% to 74.3900.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.61% at 94.40.
