Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.31% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which rose 3.53% or 0.140 points to trade at 4.110 at the close. Meanwhile, Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 2.32% or 0.310 points to end at 13.700 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was up 2.19% or 0.86 points to 40.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB), which fell 2.62% or 1.530 points to trade at 56.890 at the close. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) declined 2.36% or 0.770 points to end at 31.800 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) was down 1.93% or 1.140 points to 58.060.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 78 to 70 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 1.18% or 12.80 to $1071.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 5.77% or 2.31 to hit $37.66 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 5.26% or 2.26 to trade at $40.74 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.42% to 16.8960, while EUR/MXN rose 1.14% to 18.3305.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.40% at 98.66.
