Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC), which rose 3.32% or 3.210 points to trade at 100.010 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) added 2.65% or 0.700 points to end at 27.140 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was up 2.32% or 1.950 points to 85.900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1), which fell 3.54% or 2.840 points to trade at 77.260 at the close. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) declined 2.53% or 0.910 points to end at 35.090 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was down 2.30% or 0.300 points to 12.750.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 84 to 78 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Arca Continental, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.32% or 3.210 to 100.010.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.28% or 3.30 to $1183.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.76% or 0.35 to hit $46.99 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.15% or 0.57 to trade at $50.26 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.56% to 16.3833, while EUR/MXN fell 1.32% to 18.6495.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.50% at 94.45.
