Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 2.27% or 0.570 points to trade at 25.690 at the close. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) added 1.97% or 0.225 points to end at 11.630 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) was up 1.55% or 0.118 points to 7.718 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which lost 2.24% or 0.048 points to trade at 2.093 in late trade. Bankinter (MC:BKT) declined 1.95% or 0.168 points to end at 8.428 and Ferrovial (MC:FER) shed 1.21% or 0.215 points to 17.550.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 87 and 25 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.98% or 12.10 to $1227.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $67.02 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.45% or 0.32 to trade at $72.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.45% to 1.1657, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8872.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 94.75.
