Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Gas Natural (MC:GAS), which rose 3.20% or 0.595 points to trade at 19.185 at the close. Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (MC:COL) added 2.63% or 0.213 points to end at 8.300 and Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) was up 1.58% or 0.33 points to 21.17 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which lost 1.95% or 0.510 points to trade at 25.700 in late trade. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) declined 1.49% or 0.025 points to end at 1.649 and Bankia SA (MC:BKIA) shed 1.28% or 0.052 points to 4.007.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 105 to 74 and 21 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.92% or 11.80 to $1265.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.64% or 0.37 to hit $57.84 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.99% or 0.62 to trade at $63.07 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.1814, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8784.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 93.36.
