Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 3.92% or 1.015 points to trade at 26.920 at the close. Bankinter (MC:BKT) added 2.86% or 0.226 points to end at 8.126 and Bankia SA (MC:BKIA) was up 2.32% or 0.080 points to 3.534 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE), which lost 4.29% or 1.190 points to trade at 26.530 in late trade. Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) declined 2.07% or 0.47 points to end at 22.23 and Aena SME SA (MC:AENA) shed 1.99% or 2.95 points to 145.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 89 to 86 and 19 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.49% or 5.90 to $1208.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.14% or 0.79 to hit $70.38 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.19 to trade at $79.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1684, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.8876.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 94.06.
