Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Information Technology, Footwear & Textile and Stores & Supplies sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.23% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB), which rose 16.30% or 12.00 points to trade at 85.60 at the close. Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP) added 11.25% or 4.50 points to end at 44.50 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was up 11.11% or 0.100 points to 1.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which lost 12.50% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.700 in late trade. Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) declined 12.25% or 342.90 points to end at 2457.00 and Property Development PLC (CM:PDL) shed 11.41% or 9.40 points to 73.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 92 to 68 and 52 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.85% or 0.41 to $48.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.68% or 0.35 to hit $51.02 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.50% or 6.05 to trade at $1207.45 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.37% to 183.505, while USD/LKR fell 0.95% to 150.070.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 101.17.
