Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil, Gas & Electricity, Machinery and Trading & Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Prime Electronics & Satellitics Inc (TW:6152), which rose 10.00% or 0.58 points to trade at 6.38 at the close. Hsin Ba Ba Corp (TW:9906) added 10.00% or 1.15 points to end at 12.65 and Global PMX Co Ltd (TW:4551) was up 10.00% or 7.90 points to 86.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018), which lost 9.89% or 3.70 points to trade at 33.70 in late trade. Young Optics Inc (TW:3504) declined 7.20% or 6.40 points to end at 82.50 and Career Technology MFG Co Ltd (TW:6153) shed 5.31% or 2.30 points to 41.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 665 to 161 and 88 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.72% or 0.51 to $69.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.51% or 0.41 to hit $79.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1210.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.24% to 30.799, while TWD/CNY fell 0.18% to 0.2233.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 94.87.
