Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Textile, Other Electronic and Transport sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were ChipMOS Technologies (TW:8150), which rose 9.97% or 3.05 points to trade at 33.65 at the close. Zig Sheng Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1455) added 9.78% or 1.10 points to end at 12.35 and Logah Technology Corp (TW:3593) was up 9.76% or 1.20 points to 13.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Optotech Corp (TW:2340), which lost 9.98% or 2.45 points to trade at 22.10 in late trade. Global PMX Co Ltd (TW:4551) declined 7.16% or 14.50 points to end at 188.00 and Elite Material Co Ltd (TW:2383) shed 4.95% or 7.00 points to 134.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 411 to 330 and 130 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.26% or 0.13 to $50.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.14% or 0.08 to hit $56.92 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.22% or 2.78 to trade at $1270.42 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.15% to 30.392, while TWD/CNY fell 0.18% to 0.2183.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 93.91.
