Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Optoelectronic, Oil, Gas & Electricity and Electronic Parts/Components sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Rexon Industrial Corp Ltd (TW:1515), which rose 10.00% or 4.80 points to trade at 52.80 at the close. Falcon Power Co Ltd (TW:1516) added 9.94% or 1.80 points to end at 19.90 and Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018) was up 9.89% or 3.25 points to 36.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which lost 9.37% or 0.40 points to trade at 3.87 in late trade. Apex International Co Ltd (TW:4927) declined 7.08% or 2.60 points to end at 34.10 and Test Research Inc (TW:3030) shed 6.43% or 3.40 points to 49.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 519 to 247 and 146 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.67% or 0.47 to $70.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.08% or 0.06 to hit $78.09 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.41% or 4.90 to trade at $1201.80 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.16% to 30.773, while TWD/CNY fell 0.23% to 0.2215.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 95.34.
