Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Electronic Parts/Components sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Hsin Ba Ba Corp (TW:9906), which rose 10.00% or 1.10 points to trade at 12.10 at the close. Jentech Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:3653) added 10.00% or 7.00 points to end at 77.00 and Chaintech Technology Corp (TW:2425) was up 9.97% or 4.85 points to 53.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Promise Technology Inc (TW:3057), which lost 9.92% or 1.25 points to trade at 11.35 in late trade. Sunty Development Co Ltd (TW:3266) declined 8.85% or 1.15 points to end at 11.85 and Scientech Corp (TW:3583) shed 6.46% or 5.30 points to 76.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 575 to 221 and 118 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.07% or 0.75 to $69.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.78% or 0.61 to hit $77.56 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1198.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.06% to 30.787, while TWD/CNY fell 0.18% to 0.2221.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 95.43.
