Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Semiconductor and Textile sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Grand Ocean (TW:5907), which rose 10.00% or 2.20 points to trade at 24.20 at the close. Sumagh High-Te (TW:1475) added 9.98% or 0.98 points to end at 10.80 and Advanced Optoelectronic Tech (TW:3437) was up 9.96% or 2.55 points to 28.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ennoconn (TW:6414), which lost 8.64% or 37.50 points to trade at 396.50 in late trade. Choice Develop (TW:9929) declined 6.38% or 0.75 points to end at 11.00 and Pihsiang (TW:1729) shed 5.74% or 3.70 points to 60.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 378 to 373 and 130 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.38% or 0.19 to $50.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.51% or 0.27 to hit $52.86 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.25% or 3.10 to trade at $1241.90 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.18% to 30.367, while TWD/CNY rose 0.13% to 0.2262.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 100.39.
