Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Electronic Parts/Components sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Aero Win Technology Corp (TW:8222), which rose 9.80% or 1.70 points to trade at 19.05 at the close. Min Aik Technology Co Ltd (TW:3060) added 7.22% or 1.30 points to end at 19.30 and China Chemical & Pharmaceutical Co Ltd (TW:1701) was up 7.03% or 1.55 points to 23.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genius Electronic Optical Co Ltd (TW:3406), which lost 9.94% or 31.50 points to trade at 285.50 in late trade. Chateau International Development Co Ltd (TW:2722) declined 8.67% or 2.65 points to end at 27.90 and Genesis Photonics Inc (TW:3383) shed 8.24% or 0.22 points to 2.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 595 to 204 and 112 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.11% or 0.08 to $75.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.12% or 0.10 to hit $84.90 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1207.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.01% to 30.654, while TWD/CNY rose 0.31% to 0.2252.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 94.94.
