Investing.com - Canadian equities started with gains on Thursday. The top risers were Capped Information Technology, Capped Energy, Capped Materials and Capped Health Care indices.
At the market open in Toronto, the TSX Composite Index increased 0.58%. The TSX Venture and the TSX Smallcap also rose. The TSX Venture climbed 1.20%, while the Smallcap was up by 0.89%.
Ivanhoe Mines (TSX:IVN): Climbed 6.25% or 1.12 points to 19.05.
Lundin Mining (TSX:LUN): Increased 5.52% or 0.700 points to 13.370.
HudBay Minerals (TSX:HBM): Rose 4.55% or 0.47 points to 10.81.
Africa Oil Corp (TSX:AOI): Declined 1.64% or 0.030 points to 1.800.
Atco (TSX:ACOx): Fell 1.29% or 0.59 points to 45.28.
TC Energy (TSX:TRP): Dropped 1.36% or 0.85 points to 61.84.
In Commodities Trading:
- November Brent Oil Contract increased by 0.49% or 0.36 points to 74.01 a barrel.
- Crude Oil for November delivery climbed 0.48 points to 70.36 a barrel.
- Gold Futures for December delivery declined 0.15 points to 2,598.45 a troy ounce.
Currency Markets:
- USD/CAD is below 1.36 line after having tested above 1.3625.
- EUR/CAD stable at 1.51.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 100.700.
