Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Transport, Insurance and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.13% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA), which rose 6.84% or 0.760 points to trade at 11.870 at the close. Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) added 4.68% or 0.140 points to end at 3.130 and Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi AS (IS:PGSUS) was up 3.31% or 1.060 points to 33.060 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS), which lost 5.68% or 1.84 points to trade at 30.58 in late trade. Kiler Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:KLGYO) declined 3.17% or 0.120 points to end at 3.660 and Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) shed 3.04% or 0.170 points to 5.420.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 194 to 154 and 56 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.26% or 3.30 to $1290.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.70% or 0.42 to hit $59.55 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.81% or 0.54 to trade at $65.92 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.16% to 3.8151, while EUR/TRY rose 0.52% to 4.5412.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 92.59.
