Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Services and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO), which rose 8.15% or 0.330 points to trade at 4.380 at the close. Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL) added 4.65% or 0.70 points to end at 15.75 and Erbosan Erciyas Boru Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:ERBOS) was up 4.44% or 3.95 points to 93.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi AS (IS:PGSUS), which lost 1.80% or 0.620 points to trade at 33.820 in late trade. Deva Holding AS (IS:DEVA) declined 1.80% or 0.080 points to end at 4.370 and Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI) shed 1.69% or 0.62 points to 35.96.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 214 to 140 and 51 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.74% or 9.90 to $1329.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.42% or 0.27 to hit $63.70 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.58% or 0.40 to trade at $68.98 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.31% to 3.7691, while EUR/TRY fell 0.89% to 4.6156.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 90.37.
