Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AS (IS:OTKAR), which rose 6.74% or 5.80 points to trade at 91.85 at the close. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) added 6.67% or 0.020 points to end at 0.320 and Turkiye Garanti Bankasi (IS:GARAN) was up 6.10% or 0.46 points to 8.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Erbosan Erciyas Boru Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:ERBOS), which lost 2.82% or 1.65 points to trade at 56.95 in late trade. TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL) declined 2.01% or 0.46 points to end at 22.44 and ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) shed 1.59% or 0.030 points to 1.860.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 267 to 90 and 46 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.81% or 10.50 to $1284.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 4.01% or 1.89 to hit $48.98 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 3.77% or 2.11 to trade at $58.06 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.95% to 5.3590, while EUR/TRY fell 1.81% to 6.1133.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 95.667.
