Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.69% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogan Sirketler Grubu Holding AS (IS:DOHOL), which rose 4.30% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.970 at the close. Fenerbahce Futbol AS (IS:FENER) added 3.89% or 1.36 points to end at 36.36 and Deva Holding AS (IS:DEVA) was up 3.57% or 0.140 points to 4.060 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA), which lost 6.08% or 0.76 points to trade at 11.75 in late trade. Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) declined 5.99% or 0.630 points to end at 9.880 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) shed 5.94% or 0.250 points to 3.960.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 275 to 88 and 42 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.02% or 0.30 to $1314.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.41% or 0.98 to hit $70.70 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.84% or 1.38 to trade at $76.25 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.81% to 4.2639, while EUR/TRY rose 0.49% to 5.0864.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 92.58.
