Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Textile and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Leadtek (TW:2465), which rose 9.91% or 0.85 points to trade at 9.43 at the close. Tah Tong Texti (TW:1441) added 9.08% or 0.67 points to end at 8.05 and Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418) was up 9.00% or 0.38 points to 4.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included China Tv (TW:9928), which lost 9.50% or 0.57 points to trade at 5.43 in late trade. Eclat Textile (TW:1476) declined 7.14% or 24.50 points to end at 318.50 and Li Cheng (TW:4426) shed 6.60% or 9.50 points to 134.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 569 to 209 and 76 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.20% or 0.10 to $48.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $49.72 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.23% or 2.80 to trade at $1217.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.33% to 32.510, while TWD/CNY rose 0.10% to 0.2025.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 95.31.
