Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.93%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 3.10% or 0.0280 points to trade at 0.9320 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 0.36% or 0.0010 points to end at 0.2770 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 0.27% or 0.035 points to 12.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Montepio (LS:MPIO), which lost 10.83% or 0.061 points to trade at 0.502 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 4.67% or 0.1220 points to end at 2.4900 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) shed 2.90% or 0.1270 points to 4.2470.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 23 to 13 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.15% or 0.07 to $48.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.35% or 0.16 to hit $45.88 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.03% or 13.32 to trade at $1279.88 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.1210, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.8666.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 96.98.
