Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Services, Footwear & Textile and Power & Energy sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which rose 20.00% or 0.20 points to trade at 1.20 at the close. Elpitiya Plantations PLC (CM:ELPL) added 19.40% or 3.90 points to end at 24.00 and F L C Holdings PLC (CM:FREE) was up 10.00% or 0.100 points to 1.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which lost 16.67% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.5000 in late trade. City Housing and Real Estate Company PLC (CM:CHOU) declined 13.04% or 0.90 points to end at 6.00 and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) shed 11.02% or 2.80 points to 22.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 91 to 67 and 44 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.81% or 0.43 to $53.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.95% or 0.53 to hit $56.12 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.40% or 4.85 to trade at $1230.65 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.39% to 187.680, while USD/LKR fell 0.01% to 150.610.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 100.87.
