Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Financial Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 5.09% or 0.680 points to trade at 14.030 at the close. Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL) added 3.82% or 5.470 points to end at 148.580 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) was up 3.65% or 1.430 points to 40.610 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 4.07% or 1.050 points to trade at 24.730 in late trade. Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) declined 4.30% or 0.110 points to end at 2.450 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) shed 2.80% or 0.950 points to 33.010.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 84 to 83 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.62% or 8.30 to $1342.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.93% or 0.81 to hit $41.11 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.59% or 0.70 to trade at $43.21 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.35% to 18.8920, while EUR/MXN rose 0.54% to 20.9311.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 96.68.
