Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 0.93% or 0.0560 points to trade at 6.1050 at the close. Sonae (LS:YSO) added 0.83% or 0.0060 points to end at 0.7290 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 0.80% or 0.0020 points to 0.2510 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 2.33% or 0.0298 points to trade at 1.2500 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) declined 0.76% or 0.0530 points to end at 6.8960 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) shed 0.56% or 0.0100 points to 1.7700.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 23 to 22 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.29% or 0.65 to $49.82 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.87% or 0.93 to hit $48.79 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.75% or 9.50 to trade at $1279.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.67% to 1.0970, while EUR/GBP rose 0.52% to 0.9006.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.50% at 98.43.
