Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Software & Computer Services, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 1.37%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were KPN Kon (AS:KPN), which rose 1.69% or 0.057 points to trade at 3.437 at the close. Meanwhile, Vopak (AS:VOPA) added 0.71% or 0.27 points to end at 37.77 and Aegon (AS:AEGN) was up 0.65% or 0.033 points to 5.133 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN), which fell 4.82% or 2.05 points to trade at 40.46 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 3.08% or 0.48 points to end at 15.28 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) was down 2.71% or 1.63 points to 58.51.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 134 to 41 and 3 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 6.98% to 24.27.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 2.42% or 1.01 to $40.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.34% or 0.60 to hit $44.59 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1080.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.86% to 1.0723, while EUR/GBP fell 0.73% to 0.7051.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.67% at 99.23.
