Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Manufacturing, Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.68%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Surgut-pref (MCX:SNGS_p), which rose 4.79% or 2.010 points to trade at 44.000 at the close. Meanwhile, MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) added 1.88% or 16.00 points to end at 868.00 and Uralkaliy (MCX:URKA) was up 1.73% or 2.80 points to 164.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sollers (MCX:SVAV), which fell 5.61% or 24.0 points to trade at 404.0 at the close. PIK (MCX:PIKK) declined 5.37% or 12.50 points to end at 220.10 and RusHydro JSC (MCX:HYDR) was down 4.54% or 0.0269 points to 0.5655.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 127 to 77 and 9 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.69% to 37.310.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.03% or 0.30 to $1080.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.73% or 1.14 to hit $40.61 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.43% or 0.65 to trade at $44.55 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.45% to 66.815, while EUR/RUB fell 0.71% to 71.676.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.66% at 99.22.
