Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Electricity, Basic Metals and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.29%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which rose 12.04% or 1.28 points to trade at 11.91 at the close. Meanwhile, Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) added 9.88% or 0.080 points to end at 0.890 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) was up 8.64% or 0.070 points to 0.880 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which fell 4.17% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.240 at the close. Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) declined 1.79% or 0.010 points to end at 0.560 and Enka Insaat (IS:ENKAI) was down 0.90% or 0.04 points to 4.39.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 311 to 92 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.48% or 5.20 to $1068.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 3.68% or 1.33 to hit $37.47 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.92% or 1.05 to trade at $37.16 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.28% to 2.9228, while EUR/TRY fell 0.94% to 3.1818.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 98.64.
