Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which rose 3.51% or 0.2190 points to trade at 6.4530 at the close. Meanwhile, Portucel (LS:PTI) added 3.37% or 0.1010 points to end at 3.0960 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 3.07% or 0.0360 points to 1.2100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 9.95% or 0.0039 points to trade at 0.0353 at the close. Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) declined 3.03% or 0.0150 points to end at 0.4800 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was down 1.99% or 0.0190 points to 0.9360.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 32 to 19 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) fell to 5-year lows; losing 9.95% or 0.0039 to 0.0353.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 2.26% or 0.65 to $29.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.22% or 0.37 to hit $30.02 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.07% or 0.80 to trade at $1089.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.0925, while EUR/GBP rose 0.73% to 0.7704.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 99.02.
