Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Energy, Telecoms and Healthcare Equipment & Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 2.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS), which rose 9.94% or 0.8 points to trade at 8.6 at the close. Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) added 7.86% or 0.44 points to end at 6.04 and Bw Lpg (OL:BWLPG) was up 6.59% or 1.93 points to 31.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE), which lost 6.79% or 1.8 points to trade at 24.7 in late trade. REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC) declined 1.86% or 0.03 points to end at 1.48 and Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) shed 1.18% or 0.3 points to 27.6.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 123 to 42 and 21 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.65% or 1.27 to $49.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 2.70% or 1.33 to hit $50.59 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.88% or 11.60 to trade at $1329.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.67% to 9.3156, while USD/NOK fell 1.07% to 8.3847.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.44% at 95.77.
