* Poland's state-controlled utility Tauron said on Wednesday
that the state treasury dismissed three members of the company's
supervisory board - Agnieszka Wos, Andrzej Gorgol, and Michal
Michalewski.
* Tauron added that the treasury appointed five new members
to the firm's supervisory board. One of them is Jaroslaw
Zagorowski, the former chief executive of state-controlled
coking coal miner JSW JSW.WA .
* Polish media speculated at the start of August that the
ministry could dismiss Tauron's chief executive Dariusz Lubera
after Tauron offered only a token sum for a mine of the troubled
state miner Kompania Weglowa. ID:nL5N10F3V5
* Sources told Reuters in July that the treasury ministry
was trying to persuade some executives' at state-controlled
companies to aid in the rescue of Kompania Weglowa despite their
misgivings about the commercial logic of getting involved.
