August 3 (Reuters) - Futures for Canada's main stock index edged higher on Friday ahead of a three-day long weekend, supported by higher oil prices, but investors remained cautious amid trade war fears.
Canada markets are closed on Monday, August 6 for Civic Holiday.
September futures on the S&P/TSX index SXFc1 were up 0.15 percent at 7:15 a.m. ET.
Trade balance data for June is due at 8:30 a.m. ET
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX .GSPTSE rose 32.39 points, or 0.20 percent, to 16,409.16. Jones Industrial Average e-mini futures 1YMc1 were up 0.14 percent at 7:15 a.m. ET, while S&P 500 e-mini futures ESc1 were up 0.11 percent and Nasdaq 100 e-mini futures NQc1 were up 0.14 percent. .N
