July 11 (Reuters) - Stock futures pointed to a lower opening for Canada's main stock index on Wednesday, pressured by a slip in oil prices after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to levy new tariffs on China and Libya announced the reopening of key oil export terminals.
The spectre of tariffs on a further $200 billion of Chinese goods sent commodities lower along with stock markets, as tension between the world's biggest economies intensified. are also awaiting the Bank of Canada's interest rate decision. The bank is expected to increase rates to 1.50 percent from 1.25 percent. futures on the S&P/TSX index SXFc1 were down 0.69 percent at 7:15 a.m. ET.
On Tuesday, the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX .GSPTSE rose 96.38 points, or 0.59 percent, to 16,548.72. Jones Industrial Average e-mini futures 1YMc1 were down 0.83 percent at 7:15 a.m. ET, while S&P 500 e-mini futures ESc1 were down 0.69 percent and Nasdaq 100 e-mini futures NQc1 were up 0.85 percent. .N
