April 13 (Reuters) - Futures for Canada's main index were higher on Friday following suggestions from U.S. President Donald Trump that a military strike on Syria may not be imminent and ahead of first-quarter results.
June futures on the S&P TSX index SXFc1 were up 0.08 percent at 7:15 a.m. ET.
Canada's main stock index closed slightly higher on Thursday as Shaw Communications ' shares SJRb.TO gained on better-than-expected quarterly results and higher commodity prices, and geopolitical concerns boosted the shares of energy firms. Jones Industrial Average e-mini futures 1YMc1 were up 0.27 percent at 7:15 a.m. ET, while S&P 500 e-mini futures ESc1 were up 0.24 percent and Nasdaq 100 e-mini futures NQc1 were up 0.05 percent. .N
