China shares lower at close of trade; Shanghai Composite down 0.08%

Investing.com – China equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mobile and Real Estate Investments & Services sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite declined 0.08%, while the SZSE Component index lost 0.17%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Zhejiang Whwh (SS:600576), which rose 10.08% or 0.63 points to trade at 6.88 at the close. Jiangsu Jiangnan Water Co Ltd (SS:601199) added 10.06% or 0.480 points to end at 5.250 and Suzhou Xingye Materials Technology Co Ltd (SS:603928) was up 10.01% or 1.770 points to 19.450 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Aurora Optoelectronics Co Ltd (SS:600666), which lost 10.02% or 1.270 points to trade at 11.410 in late trade. Shanghai Laimu Electronics Co Ltd (SS:603633) declined 5.89% or 1.220 points to end at 19.510 and Zhejiang ChiMin Pharmaceutical Co Ltd (SS:603222) shed 5.86% or 0.65 points to 10.45.

The top performers on the SZSE Component were LandOcean Energy Services Co (SZ:300157) which rose 10.06% to 7.22, Shenzhen Sunway Communication (SZ:300136) which was up 6.28% to settle at 35.38 and Cangzhou Mingzhu Plastic Co Ltd (SZ:002108) which gained 6.25% to close at 8.16.

The worst performers were Cefc Anhui International Holding Co Ltd (SZ:002018) which was down 5.04% to 3.20 in late trade, Shijiazhuang Changshan Textile Co Ltd (SZ:000158) which lost 4.26% to settle at 8.10 and Shaanxi J&R Fire Protection Co Ltd (SZ:300116) which was down 3.95% to 3.65 at the close.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 743 to 555 and 66 ended unchanged on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was unchanged 0.00% to 22.42.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.61% or 8.00 to $1305.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.69% or 1.86 to hit $70.92 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.70% or 2.02 to trade at $76.87 a barrel.

USD/CNY was up 0.12% to 6.3784, while EUR/CNY fell 0.15% to 7.5466.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 93.18.
