Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 0.97%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which rose 0.74% or 0.22 points to trade at 30.00 at the close. YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) added 0.57% or 0.03 points to end at 5.30 and Kemira Oyj (HE:KRA1V) was up 0.47% or 0.05 points to 10.71 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metso Oyj (HE:MEO1V), which lost 4.42% or 1.01 points to trade at 21.84 in late trade. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) declined 3.52% or 0.122 points to end at 3.342 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) shed 2.31% or 0.23 points to 9.52.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 102 to 73 and 13 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 2.30% or 0.91 to $38.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.37% or 0.88 to hit $36.30 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 1.15% or 14.30 to trade at $1230.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1113, while EUR/GBP rose 1.15% to 0.7855.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 96.64.
