Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 1.93% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V), which rose 7.48% or 2.22 points to trade at 31.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Valmt (HE:VALMT) added 6.68% or 0.60 points to end at 9.66 and Konecranes Oyj (HE:KCR1V) was up 5.13% or 1.17 points to 23.97 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV), which fell 12.77% or 4.36 points to trade at 29.77 at the close. Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V) declined 1.61% or 0.23 points to end at 14.07 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) was down 0.63% or 0.19 points to 30.21.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 115 to 64 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for December delivery was up 0.18% or 0.09 to $47.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $45.25 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1166.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.92% to 1.1122, while EUR/GBP fell 1.63% to 0.7234.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.37% at 96.38.
