Proactive Investors - Fisker Inc (NYSE:FSR) announced that it is developing a dealer partnership model in North America in a bid to accelerate the deliveries of its electric vehicles (EVs).
In Europe, the company said it plans to continue to offer direct sales but will also bring on distribution partners.
It expects to open approximately 100 dealer locations across the two continents and send its first Fisker EVs to new dealers by the end of the first quarter of 2024.
The dealer partnership model will offer customers no-haggle pricing on Fisker vehicles and provide the company’s dealer partners with larger market territories, Fisker said.
“We are evolving our business model and intend to add as many as 50 dealer partners in the US and Canada and a similar number of dealer locations in Europe this year,” Fisker CEO Henrik Fisker said in a statement.
“In keeping with our asset-light strategy, I expect the Dealer Partnership model should enable Fisker to expand its sales and delivery network at a faster pace."
Shares of Fisker moved lower on the news, down 3.4% at US$1.44 late morning on Thursday.
