Luxury electric automaker, Fisker (NYSE:FSR) on Friday, released additional details on the company’s Ronin Super GT electric convertible showcased at the company’s first-ever Product Vision Day on August 3.
The Fisker Ronin is designed to comfortably seat five people, capitalizing on the advantageous design of an electric vehicle to offer an extraordinary cargo capacity—an uncommon feature in the realm of supercars. With an anticipated 0-60mph time of two seconds, reaching top speeds of 170mph, the Ronin is poised to rival or even outperform existing supercars in the market.
Notably, the vehicle promises an impressive range alongside its performance attributes. While the option for autonomous technologies will be available, Fisker’s primary focus for the Ronin remains on enhancing the driver's enjoyment and engagement.
“The Fisker Ronin is for people who love to drive, but who are also thrilled by automotive art and design and demand that their high-performance vehicles embrace a sustainable future,” said CEO Henrik Fisker.
The back butterfly doors make rear-seat entry easy. Only one door handle is needed; the front doors open electronically by swiping the handle or using a smartphone. The handle extends when the rear doors are ready to open. All doors can be unlocked remotely with a smartphone. The foldable carbon-fiber hardtop also retracts into the trunk via smartphone command, making space for luggage, and there's extra storage in the front trunk.
The Fisker Ronin will have a special aluminum frame with built-in battery cells for a 600-mile range. Lightweight materials will be used in the carbon-fiber 23-inch wheels. Inside, the focus is on eco-friendly luxury, with innovative recycled materials aiming to make the Ronin the most sustainable supercar globally. The car will also feature a large 17.1-inch high-resolution screen and a driver-focused instrument cluster.
“Our goal was to create a classic grand touring car, updated for the 21st century and engineered for customers who want to drive from Los Angeles to Napa Valley on a single charge or take on the autobahn at steady high speeds without concern for battery capacity,” added Fisker.
Shares of FSR are down 1.93% in early trading Friday morning.
