Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Food and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 11.38% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.137 at the close. Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) added 3.98% or 0.350 points to end at 9.140 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 3.90% or 0.008 points to 0.213 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr), which lost 5.47% or 0.140 points to trade at 2.420 in late trade. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) declined 4.35% or 0.050 points to end at 1.100 and FHL I Kiriakidis Marbles and Granites SA (AT:KRKr) shed 4.26% or 0.200 points to 4.500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 51 to 49 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.85% or 10.73 to $1277.73 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.30% or 1.11 to hit $47.25 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.31% or 1.17 to trade at $49.46 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.55% to 1.1275, while EUR/GBP rose 0.56% to 0.8753.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.48% at 96.69.
