Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Retail, Basic Resources and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which rose 12.97% or 0.045 points to trade at 0.382 at the close. Halcor (AT:XAKO) added 4.67% or 0.025 points to end at 0.560 and Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) was up 3.33% or 0.59 points to 18.29 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which lost 8.51% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.185 in late trade. Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) declined 2.82% or 0.230 points to end at 7.920 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) shed 2.75% or 0.003 points to 0.106.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 62 to 38 and 19 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 2.34% or 28.15 to $1228.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.59% or 0.29 to hit $48.57 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.39% or 0.20 to trade at $51.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.0736, while EUR/GBP fell 0.58% to 0.8682.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 100.20.
