Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 9.14% or 0.0180 points to trade at 0.2150 at the close. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 7.56% or 0.009 points to end at 0.128 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was up 7.06% or 0.012 points to 0.182 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Folli Follie (AT:HDFr), which lost 1.80% or 0.36 points to trade at 19.64 in late trade. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) declined 1.56% or 0.003 points to end at 0.189 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) shed 1.49% or 0.080 points to 5.290.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 69 to 30 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.87% or 10.91 to $1267.31 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.35% or 0.17 to hit $49.07 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.12% or 0.06 to trade at $51.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.1183, while EUR/GBP rose 1.02% to 0.8749.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 97.34.
